The Real Radiation Threat To The US And YOU

As the jet stream continues around the world some radioactive particles will fall with rain, snow or as dust particles, before it continues it's deadly circle.

 

The number of radioactive particles may diminish but the STRENGTH of each particle does not diminish.

 

That means that the STRENGTH of radiation that leaves Fukushima is the same strength that reaches California or the East coast etc. There may be fewer particles with distance, but when you're dealing with low levels of radiation it doesn't matter how few there are.

 

By April 1 2011 the Fukushima radiation will have passed over all of North America leaving many areas with very low levels of radiation depending on jet stream distribution.

 

Once you ingest or inhale even very low levels of radioactive particles the Petkau Effect immediately starts potentially lethal tissue ionization.

 

The phenomenon of the Petkau Effect basically means that you are ionizing or irradiating yourself continuously from the inside out. This insidious burning at your molecular level will impair your body long before there is a diagnosable disease.

Free radicals are generated during long term exposure to extremely low levels of radiation. which will exhaust our defenses unless our body has an abundant reserve of antioxidants.

EPA: New Radiation Highs in Little Rock Milk, Philadelphia Drinking Water

Milk from Little Rock and drinking water from Philadelphia contained the highest levels of Iodine-131 from Japan yet detected by the Environmental Protection Agency, according to data released by EPA Saturday.

The Philadelphia sample is below the EPA’s maximum contaminant level (MCL) for iodine-131 in water, but the Little Rock sample is almost three times higher. However, the Food and Drug Administration observes a much higher standard for milk, and all milk samples collected so far are well below that level.

Nonetheless, the EPA does not consider the milk dangerous because the MCL is set for long-term exposure, and the iodine-131 from Japan’s Fukushima-Daichi nuclear accident is expected to be temporary and deteriorate rapidly.

 

The FDA’s Derived Intervention Level for iodine-131 in milk is 4700 picoCuries per liter. The EPA’s MCL for iodine-131 is 3 picoCuries per liter.

“There are a few reasons that EPA’s MCL for I-131 drinking water is different than FDA’s DIL for I-131 in any given food,” said FDA spokesman Siobhan Delancy by email. “One of them is that EPA assumes a 70 year time period for exposure, so the MCLs are basically for continual, ongoing intake. They are meant to be as low as reasonably achievable while the DILs are meant to assure that no one will reach a specific dose that would warrant protective actions as a result of an event.”

The Little Rock milk sample contained 8.9 picoCuries per liter. It was collected on March 30. On Sunday, EPA released data showing milk in Hilo, Hawaii with 24 pCi/L of cesium-134, 19 of cesium-137, and 18 of Iodine-131.

Three drinking water samples collected in Philadelphia on April 4 contained Iodine-131, according to Saturday’s data release:

• A sample from the city’s Queen Lane Treatment Plant showed 2.2 picoCuries per liter—the highest concentration in EPA’s drinking water data so far.
• Water collected at the Belmont Treatment Plant contained 1.3 picocuries, and
• Water collected at the Baxter Treatment Plant contained 0.46 picocuries.

Philaphelphia becomes the 14th US city with radioactive fallout detected in its drinking water.

Iodine-131 has a half life of eight days: every eight days, half of its mass decays into a non-radioactive isotope of xenon.

Radiation from Japan has been detected in drinking water in 13 more American cities, and cesium-137 has been found in American milk—in Montpelier, Vermont—for the first time since the Japan nuclear disaster began, according to data released by the Environmental Protection Agency late Friday.

Milk samples from Phoenix and Los Angeles contained iodine-131 at levels roughly equal to the maximum contaminant level permitted by EPA, the data shows. The Phoenix sample contained 3.2 picoCuries per liter of iodine-131. The Los Angeles sample contained 2.9. The EPA maximum contaminant level is 3.0, but this is a conservative standard designed to minimize exposure over a lifetime, so EPA does not consider these levels to pose a health threat.

The cesium-137 found in milk in Vermont is the first cesium detected in milk since the Fukushima-Daichi nuclear accident occurred last month. The sample contained 1.9 picoCuries per liter of cesium-137, which falls under the same 3.0 standard.

Radioactive isotopes accumulate in milk after they spread through the atmosphere, fall to earth in rain or dust, and settle on vegetation, where they are ingested by grazing cattle. Iodine-131 is known to accumulate in the thyroid gland, where it can cause cancer and other thyroid diseases. Cesium-137 accumulates in the body’s soft tissues, where it increases risk of cancer, according to EPA.

Airborne contamination continues to cross the western states, the new data shows, and Boise has seen the highest concentrations of radioactive isotopes in rain so far.

A rainwater sample collected in Boise on March 27 contained 390 picocures per liter of iodine-131, plus 41 of cesium-134 and 36 of cesium-137. EPA released this result for the first time yesterday. Typically several days pass between sample collection and data release because of the time required to collect, transport and analyze the samples.

In most of the data released Friday the levels of contaminants detected are far below the standards observed by EPA and other U.S. agencies.

But the EPA drinking-water data includes one outlier—an unusually, but not dangerously, high reading in a drinking water sample from Chatanooga, Tennessee.

The sample was collected at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Sequoyah nuclear plant. A Tennessee official told the Chatanooga Times last week that radiation from Japan had been detected at Sequoyah but is “1,000 to 10,000 times below any levels of concern.” The 1.6 picocures per liter reported by the EPA on Friday is slightly more than half the maximum contaminant level permitted in drinking water, but more uniquely, it is many times higher than all the other drinking water samples collected in the U.S.

Radioactive Iodine-131 was found in drinking water samples from 13 cities. Those cities are listed below, with the amount of Iodine-131 in picocuries per liter. The EPA’s maximum contaminant level for Iodine-131 in drinking water is 3 picocuries per liter.

As reported above, the Boise sample also contained 42 pC/m3 of Cesium-134, and 36 of Cesium-137.

No other types of isotopes were found in the most recent data from air samples, even though EPA is also on the lookout for barium-140, cobalt-60, cesium-134, cesium-136, cesium-137, iodine-132, iodine-133, tellurium-129, and tellurium-132.

In older samples, isotopes of cesium and tellurium were found in Boise; Las Vegas; Nome and Dutch Harbor; Honolulu, Kauai and Oahu, Hawaii; Anaheim, Riverside, San Francisco, and San Bernardino, California; Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida; Salt Lake City, Utah; Guam, and Saipan on the Marina Islands.

Some of these locations had not been previously reported in EPA news releases.

The EPA has said it will continue to monitor radiation levels in air, precipitation, drinking water, and milk even if the budget impasse shuts down the government next week.

Doesn't that succinctly describe what is happening at Fukushima, Japan where the hellish troika of General Electric (GE), the Tokyo Electric and Power Company (TEPCO), and the Japanese government have whipped up a radioactive, boiling hot nuclear cauldron of Whup Ass Hell-Broth Trouble for the whole of humanity?

And now they have commenced pouring their vile, radioactive brew into the ocean by unknown millions of gallons, flushing into the Pacific the radioactive run-off from the tens of thousands of tons of water that have been dumped on the melted-down reactors to cool them, there to be carried to the soon-to-be-radioactively-poisoned-waters of the Seven Seas by the incessantly circulating currents of the open ocean. (1) The government in Japan has said that the radioactive water would not be a threat to humans (1), but what gullible fool believes that lie? I certainly don't. Do you?

And then there is the matter of all of that radioactive steam and smoke that has been issuing on and off for weeks now, in varying amounts, from the melted-down reactors and the ruined hulks of the containment structures and demolished spent-fuel-rod-cooling-pools. As the weeks go by and more and more radioactive steam and smoke has escaped, the mainstream news media have said less and less about the ongoing crisis at Fukushima.

I guess that's because the West Coast of North America is directly downwind from Japan. Prevailing winds are right now carrying radioactive contamination from Japan across the Pacific to British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California and Mexico. Here you can see a very good model of the prevailing winds and how they disperse the radioactive plume across the Pacific Ocean to North America, before going on to the rest of the northern hemisphere.

But not to worry, says the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the USA. Even though radioactivity from the Fukushima nuclear reactors has been found at a growing number of locations across the USA, "These detections in air, precipitation, and milk were expected, and the levels detected have been far below levels of public-health concern." (2)

Others have been doing their own analyses, however, and based on a century of scientific research have drawn the rather different conclusion that even low levels of ionizing radiation are carcinogenic, and there is likely not a threshold level below which this is not true. (3) In other words, the EPA is simply lying about the menace to public well-being. The radiation from Fuskushima, like all other ionizing radiation, is absolutely hazardous to human health.

An additional problem is that in recent weeks there have been numerous reports that many EPA radiation monitoring devices across the country do not even work, are in need of repair, or yield results that need "review." (4)(5)(6) This obviously further compromises the EPA's blandishments to the public to not be concerned about radiation levels.

And make no mistake about it: Something very wicked this way comes.

According to this EPA report, in the last month the dangerous radionuclides, cesium-137 and iodine-131, have been detected at low levels on the Pacific islands of Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and Hawaii, and on the North American mainland in Alaska, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Washington State, Alabama and Florida. Where uranium isotopes are concerned, uranium-234 is reported as being detected at low levels in the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Hawaii, California and Washington State, while uranium-238 was reportedly detected in the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Hawaii and California.

Sadly, this recent EPA report understates the scope of the problem. The EPA certainly knows that traces of radioactivity from the Fukushima nuclear reactors also have turned up in rainwater in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and North and South Carolina. These facts have been widely reported in the news media in recent weeks, but those data do not appear in the EPA report linked above. In fact, it is hard to know how accurate the EPA reports are, because as mentioned above, there are many "gaps"in the coverage of the EPA's radiation monitoring system. (7) And the reports will keep coming, as thirteen American cities report traces of iodine-131 in the drinking water, Montpelier, Vermont reports cesium-137 in milk samples., and iodine-131 turns up in milk in Phoenix and Los Angeles. With rising mistrust generally of governments worldwide, and especially in the wake of the sporadic and weak flow of information from the Japanese government about the crisis at Fukushima, there is growing concern that everyday people must monitor ambient radiation levels themselves.

Clearly, we are dealing with vicious psychopathology hard at work in high places. The people (if that is what they are) running the current corporate-government system want to hurt us and the whole planet. They are oblivious to humanity's well being. They lie with impunity. They distort reality and the truth without regard for anyone's health, or future life prospects. That is the sober truth of the situation in which we find ourselves.

The Fukushima crisis is not over. Far from it. No, the Fukushima crisis is just beginning, and the radioactive, ill winds have but begun to blow.

8000 IUs of vitamin D daily necessary to raise blood levels of "miracle" anti-cancer nutrient, declares groundbreaking new research

Study reveals 90% vitamin D deficiency rate across U.S. population

This particular study involved over 3,000 volunteers who were taking vitamin D supplements. Researchers drew blood samples from them in order to determine their levels of 25-vitamin D (the common form circulating in the blood).

The results were shocking even to the study authors, revealing that 90 percent of those studied were deficient in vitamin D, falling below the 40 - 60 ng/ml range now considered healthy. (Most nutritionally-aware experts in the natural health world recommend higher ranges of 60 - 70 ng/ml, actually.)

The U.S. government's Institute of Medicine has intentionally downplayed vitamin D recommendations, seemingly in an effort to keep boosting the profits of the cancer industry by denying any real benefit to vitamin D. • Vitamin D intake of 10,000 IU / day had no toxicity.

• For those severely deficient in vitamin D, each 1,000 IU / day of increased supplementation resulted in an increase of 10 ng / ml in vitamin D blood levels.

Abstract. Background: Studies indicate that intake of vitamin D in the range from 1,100 to 4,000 IU/d and a serum 25- hydroxyvitamin D concentration [25(OH)D] from 60-80 ng/ml may be needed to reduce cancer risk. Few community-based studies allow estimation of the dose–response relationship between oral intake of vitamin D and corresponding serum 25(OH)D in the range above 1,000 IU/d. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study of serum 25(OH)D concentration and self-reported vitamin D intake in a community-based cohort (n=3,667, mean age 51.3±13.4 y). Results: Serum 25(OH)D rose as a function of self-reported vitamin D supplement ingestion in a curvilinear fashion, with no intakes of 10,000 IU/d or lower producing 25(OH)D values above the lower-bound of the zone of potential toxicity (200 ng/ml). Unsupplemented all-source input was estimated at 3,300 IU/d. The supplemental dose ensuring that 97.5% of this population achieved a serum 25(OH)D of at least 40 ng/ml was 9,600 IU/d. Conclusion: Universal intake of up to 40,000 IU vitamin D per day is unlikely to result in vitamin D toxicity.

The recent increase in interest in vitamin D by the general public has fueled a better than 200% increase in sales of over-the-counter vitamin D preparations from 2008 to 2009, and a more than 6-fold increase since 2001 (1). Additionally, products with progressively increasing content of vitamin D have been introduced with similar rapidity. There seems to have been little precedent for a change of this magnitude and duration for other nutrients (e.g., vitamins C and E) that have enjoyed brief periods of popularity among the general public. There is essentially no information on how the public uses these products or on their impact on the vitamin D status of consumers.

GrassrootsHealth (GRH), a non-profit community service organization dedicated to promoting public awareness about vitamin D, has assembled a database that includes information on supplemental vitamin D intake by a self-selected population cohort, and links these intakes to measured values for serum 25(OH)D, various demographic variables, and a variety of health status measures. GRH data include values from many individuals with daily supplemental intakes in and above the ranges often used today for cancer prevention and co-therapy (2, 3).

Swine flu vaccine linked to 900 percent increased risk of developing narcolepsy

(NaturalNews) The World Health Organization (WHO) is currently investigating reports from 12 different countries claiming that the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccination is responsible for causing narcolepsy, a disorder involving extreme chronic fatigue and the tendency to fall asleep suddenly and without warning. One of the reports from Finland, for instance, found that children who received the swine flu vaccine were 900 percent more likely to develop narcolepsy than non-vaccinated children.

The Finnish study, which was released by Finland’s National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), stopped short of fully blaming the vaccines, adding a caveat about a possible “joint effect of the vaccine and some other factor(s).” But the vaccine is clearly correlated to the condition, and by all preliminary appearances, seems to be a primary causative factor.

Considering WHO’s lead role in promoting the swine flu “pandemic” that led to mass vaccination campaigns in the first place, it is highly unlikely that this corrupt agency will ever come out and condemn swine flu vaccines, no matter how many reports and studies emerge. We’re now told not to worry because we won’t ever again have to take the annual flu jab, which has been proven to be useless, or even the much maligned ‘swine flu’ jab which has been proven to be, not only useless but actually dangerous to public health with side effects far outweighing any supposed benefits and which was even described as totally unnecessary by an investigating committee in the EU parliament.
